IOH Celebrates Brain Injury Awareness Month – Week 3
Institutes Of Health is proud support Brain Injury Awareness Month and stand with the concussion community to break down stigma and empower those who have survived traumatic brain injuries. Each week in March, we raised awareness for one of the most common, yet least understood, forms of injury-related disability, a traumatic brain injury.
WEEK 3: Many people that suffer a concussion fully recover within weeks. Others however, experience ongoing symptoms that can last months or years, and too often can be devastating. Comprehensive analysis of concussion presentation can give individuals with delayed recovery insight into their deficits and allow specialists to develop the appropriate individualized brain injury rehabilitation program. Such treatment places individuals affected by concussion on the most effective path to recovery.
